Hello, I have just bought the game on Steam and sadly cannot play it due to the extreme stuttering/freezing which occurs anywhere from 5-15 seconds. Currently I haven't even tried a battle yet but I will be after I post this. I am going to also try turning down the graphics (currently maxed.)

I have v-sync on, and capped at 60 fps. My GPU is Ati Radeon HD 7860 2gb, using latest beta drivers, and my proccesor is an I7 3820 3.60GHz 8GB ram running on Windows 7 Home Premium. I really want to play and enjoy the game but I simply can't with this stuttering, any help will be seriously appreciated and thank you in advance.

Edit: Forgot to mention I am running this game off of an external drive and I know this caused issues with certain other games, could this be the case? I really don't wanna copy the game to my main drive, but I will if I have to.

Edit 2: The issue occurs even in the main menu so it shouldn't be from graphical stress on the system.

Edit 3: Spent some time trouble-shooting the stuttering with no results, tried moving it my internal drive but of course steam didn't detect it and now I am re-downloading the whole thing, hopefully it will be fixed from that. I will report if this works later in-case anybody has the same issue as me.

Edit 4: Note to Edit 3; Completely un-installed appmanifest as-well as all previous game files since it's re-downloading anyways in order to avoid any problems that could cause.

Edit 5: Putting it on another drive accomplished nothing with the stuttering still present. Hopefully this will be fixed tomorrow from the PC being turned off, if not well I just hope this gets patched along with issues others are having but I will probably spend some time looking around for a solution.

Edit 6: It looks like the latest patch seems to have reduced the issue significantly putting the game into a playable state for me, just had my first battle and it was tons of fun without the extreme stutter! Cheer Larian, thanks for the patch but the issue is still here but not nearly as bad smile

Update: Never mind, the stuttering being fixed was a fluke and it's as bad as before frown

I have the 'same' problem. It wasn't noticeable until chapter 2 and it "goes away" the longer you wait to click the End Turn button but returns after the computer finishes his moves and it's your turn again. Even in the Raven it happens and animations, sound and even the cursor stutters A LOT. Reloading does not fix the issue as well (in fact, if it already "went away" the stuttering returns as soon as the game is loaded.)

V-sync on or off makes no difference. The same goes for the fps cap.

I'll try to lower the details and mess around with some settings in the control panel.

The stuttering on the strategy map only happens on dualcore systems and will be addressed as soon as possible in an upcoming patch.
