So I've gotten a lot of these population adjusting cards and I have yet to use them much. I used a 100% genocide card once on a territory I was about to attack and it basically made me unable to build any units when I fought them which turned me off. (Though I could see how you could cause genocide and invade with a larger army so the enemy can't even recruit anything to fight back)

So I ask what are the benefits of raising population vs killing off a population in a country? (I don't think it was ever explained or I missed it)

So I just used a +300% population card on my Capital in hopes of it like increasing how much research or gold was collected, but nope nothing changed. I'm thinking it's only purpose is for recruiting units in combat.

Yes, those cards alter the recruit pool for any battle during the card's effects. IMHO, you should be able to use genocide cards on your own territories or boosters on enemy territories, as those can be good strategic choices every now and then.

Didn't those have a negative side effect with your race relations, though?

I've used them, they didn't.

Sounds like a bug then, given how they emphasized that effect very recently.

In multi-player there is no impact of genocide cards outside combat; for single player there should be.
