Considering the GOG version does not have any sort of lobby, I think playing with other people from all around the world is quite complicated.

Therefore, I think we should set up a meeting point in case people want to play some D:DC MP via direct IP.

My first guess for this would be an IRC channel (if anyone has a better idea, feel free to add), for example,
- Use an IRC client (like this one for Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/circ/bebigdkelppomhhjaaianniiifjbgocn)
- Log in to server irc.freenode.net
- Join channel #divinity
- and we could meet up and arrange battles!

This feels like the poor man's Battle.NET, but hey, I think it's a better idea than nothing.

By the way, if you're from behind a router and want to host a Direct-IP match, you need to portforward UDP 23232.

The game should match you with players from ANY version of the game, including steam. If you find that it doesn't, report it as a bug.

The GOG version of the game can not use Steamworks unless the game is listed in your Steam library. Since GOG doesn't distribute Steam keys, most people with the GOG version will not have access to the Steamworks online lobby, just a direct connection or LAN.

The latest patch should help for anyone that was getting NAT Punch-through errors.

thanks again for trying tho.
to be honest, i thought about it but me and a friend came to the conclusion it would just be too complicated this way.
not enough people anyways because its not official, some already gave up,etc.
you cant guarantee all can join because of the portforward setting, different versions and so on.
so... sorry ^^

what could maybe work before even the last players loose interest would be a official forum/timetable with a notice ingame. this way you could pick up the last stray vault/gog and even steam players.
there you could manage it much like a league with a timetable.
on the [date] at [gmt time] this [map/gamemode] with [ip].
additional info: [gameversion],[players],[reliable host 1-5 rating],[match/players skill level]
host guarantees that you can join and you can sign in via a post. the moderator has to edit the above timetable accordingly. the work could easily be done by some intern.
but as i said, probably wouldnt work without official support and a notice ingame so people would begin to notice that one could try multiplayer after all.

Or Larian could just give every GOG user a Steam key so they wouldn't screw us over with an incomplete game. That could work too. O.o
