Hey folks,

This game looks absolutely awesome and really want to give it a go. The only thing that is stopping me from buying it now is the min requirements on the specs.

I know your minimum recommendation is the Radeon 4850 but I was wondering would it still work with a lesser graphics card anyway?

Here my current specs:

AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core processor 2.80
2 GB Ram
Radeon HD 3850

What do you guys think?

Well the game actually started on my other pc a pentium 4 2.4ghz single core processor with an nvidia 7600gt and the strategy phase ran quite smooth too, however, the game crashed when i entered battle.

To surmise: the game will start, and will most likely run well on minimum, however how stable will it be is a different question.

Someone was able to get the beta running on a MacBook Pro with 9400M graphics (see here). A quick Google search implies the 3850's performance isn't dramatically lower than the 4850, so there is reason to think it may be playable, at least with lower graphics settings and/or resolutions.

There should be a demo released at some point, if nobody replies with feedback about that card, or something comparable.

Zolee;
Did it help to set the graphics and texture quality to medium or low? There is a known issue that can cause a crash entering RTS (can also be caused on a laptop if the game is running off the integrated graphics rather than discrete), so your stability problem may not have been entirely due to the system specs.

It was on 100% minimum, also i had to alt+tab out 3-4 times otherwise the game hang on the screen before the menu loaded.

Doesn't matter though. I do have a lot better pc that runs the game on ultra and at 60+ fps. I merely tested it out of curiosity. I have this habit of trying brand new games on the ye olde pentium 4 to see if it can still start newer games. Also it's not a laptop. It's a pc.
Pentium 4 @ 2.4ghz
gainward nvidia 7600gt 256mb gddr3
1gb ddr ram @ 400mhz.
And running the ye olde win xp.

If this config can start the game and the strategy phase ran reasonably well, it shouldnt be a problem for the thread maker to run the game on med graphics.

On a side note, this config can also run guild wars 2 on minimum graphics at 4-9 fps rofl.
