I'm level 12 mage right now. No one back in Aleroth can repair my items anymore, and a few of my items are running low. I am in Rivertown, doing quests like killing the trolls, finding Zandalor, stuff like that. As a mage would it be a waste to max out repair or not. Would it be a waste for me to even put one point into repair? I am a little lost as to where I can go now to repair my items, and a lot of them are very low. Also, if you are a mage, is it pointless to move into different "way" skills. For instance, enchant item, etc. Also, what is the best elemental skill to put into. I have 4 in Meteorstrike, and it seems okay, but I don't know how great it will be later in the game. I can kill an orc veteran and such w/ usually about two shots. I only have 246 mana though. I am a little lost in what skills to invest in, and whether or not I should use repair.

To get your items repaired...you can either go to the blue boar in and get them repaired by Gomoe or Otho OR you can go to Ars Magicana in the NE section of the world map and get your items repaired by Geoff who is the only person I go to for item repairs and selling items. He's really the only person with the money to back up my items.

I'd suggest lvl 1 or maybe lvl2 repair is more than enough. If you want full repair: go to Goemoe he's at the blue boar inn (after healer escort is done) or go to ars magicana (see Geoff the best smith in the game).

Ars Magicana is east of the cursed Abbey (just about all the way east on the map), north east of the castle. The Blue Boar inn (with Otho and Goemoe) is south of the farmlands.

Kaan's mage guide, click here

Other mage suggestions, click here

Rivertown map, by Dragon, click here

Ok, here are mage tips and a map for better orientation - hope, both links help. BTW, "enchant item" is useful for a mage = boosts up stats/resistances.

Repair is good when your in a pinch like when ur in Iona's dungeon when you can't teleport out to repair.

Enchant item is good for all characters. the charms make things easier with the bonuses.

Even as a warrior, I spent only one skill point on Repair. Skill points were valuable all the way to the end. But I didn't regret the one I spent. I kept a close eye out for items that gave +1 Repair, and I did fine a couple.

I did that in my first game, but didn't bother with it again. It's easier to ask a merchant to repair your stuff whenever you go to sell loot. It raises their reputation quickly and all your equipment is always in good nick. Saves on skill points too.

And welcome to the forums!

When you sell an item, the closer it is to maximum durability, the more money you get.
