Sorry, I play the game hours a day, and sometimes need to umm... get others people opinions before going through w/ something. I have a good deal of possible charmed items, should I max out enchant weapon / armor skill, or whatever it is? and, what level should I wait until to take on the trolls cave, the cursed abbey, and storm fist castle.

If you have any items with a charm quality of 5, then you'll need to max "enchant Item" to fill all the slots available.

I think anywhere above mid to high 20's should be enough to face all three. for the cursed abbey make sure u have ur resistances high. Stormfist is relatively easy, no real fighting until you go through the sewers.

Others wil correct me if i'm wrong.

If the equipment is good enough you think you might be keeping it for the rest of the game, consider leaving some slots open for gold charms. Otherwise, try to just use silver charms, the best ones you can buy before close to the end of the game, though you can find a few gold charms before then.

I think I did the troll's cave around 12 or 15 (cleared the orcs in that area first), the cursed Abbey in low twenties and the castle around 30.

Save, then try something. If you die quickly, re-load and try something else first. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Woah! Raze, that's crazy!
I had 10, maybe 12 charms in the whole game. I pick-pocketed one from the fighter's guildmaster and bought the rest.
I had a charm skill of 3, I think, it was enough for me.

What's crazy, leaving open slots for gold charms or trying to use at least silver charms?

I used one charm (gold strength, dropped by the dragon rider Zandalor killed) the whole game, but converted my loot to charms. At the end of the game I had;

66 gold / very large charms (found 6 before hitting the gong)
59 silver / large charms
24 red / medium charms
19 blue / minor charms
1 green / weak charm

why raze...that's ...charming.....169 times!
and judging from the amount of charms you ended up with
your character must have had a very charmable personality! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" />

170 if you count the one in my amulet. Some people decorated houses or massacred civilians, I collected charms. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

In the first gamwe, I found no green one at all, in the second only one in the whole game. Are they really that rare ?

Yeah, it's surprising but they're much more rare than the silver or gold ones :0D.

more cash, better items, more barrels with stuff in them, shall we say "randomly" better? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />!

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
