Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Depleted ore mines platforms

I am stuck in the depleted ore mines trying to complete the platform jumping puzzle where the two platforms appear after pulling the lever--and then disappear after a short time.
I have trolled the forums (Ego draconis, game play and tips) and located some tips, but I could use direction to treads on this.
Basically, I tried to complete the platform jumps but I cannot get past the quickly disappearing ones. Is there a particular place from which to jump?
Please help as I have made my way thru a long way and want to finish.

Are you playing the original release of the game, or DKS / D2:DC? The platforms were modified slightly between D2:ED and DKS.

You should be able to stand by the lever facing where the platforms will appear, (quicksave) hit the lever, quickly jump up both platforms and hit the pressure plate on the second one (I pointed the camera at the plate and selected it, but a couple people mentioned stepping on it, which would probably be faster), drop off and get the chest that appears when the pressure plate is activated.

If you can not get it in a few tries, there is only some random loot in the chest (potentially nice in D2:ED; I don't recall it being as good in DKS), so you could easily skip it.

In Ego Draconis, it's random loot, but in Dragon Knight Saga, that chest has a piece of the Aleroth Archmage set.
