What a fantastic update, Larian! laugh

Letting us get acquainted with the toolset already at the alpha stage is simply wonderful news. And if it makes making and publishing mods as easy as Laurens said in the video, it will be a dream come true.

A question: Will all this easy access be in anyway connected with Steam Workshop?

P.S. Female Orc FTW! smile

IMHO, D:OS better have a Steam workshop, even if eventually.

"Hey GOG and larian shop users, here is your DRM free D:OS. By the way: We are using the steam workshop to distribute mods, so good luck with that."
Sure you could make a non-steam version of the mod, but you ARE fragmenting the mod community then, bad idea.

But it happens with several games anyhow.

I'm pretty sure (or at least I hope) that a DOS nexus will be made. that would be great

I find it hard to complain, when the reason for the delays is to... ya know... add in all the features that people PAID FOR.

It's all sounding really good Larian. It did make me happy wink

I was reassured that they announced a significant delay (extension of development). I would have been worried if they released on the previous schedule considering how much extra money they raised and all those stretch goals that need to be implemented. It only stands to reason that alpha would need to be pushed back accordingly.

The editor however is a very welcome surprise.

I wonder if we'll be able to PLAY the game at all. Creating a decent quest and combat requires playtesting. If we can't playtest what we construct, it would be very risky to try and develop anything but the very simplest of levels.

Of course. I don't know how you would be able to create a mod (and optionally publish it for others to play) without being able to play it yourself.
