...but will only be appreciated by people who are fans of Dark Eye setting and/or liked the Drakensang games.

I had my eyes on this game ever since it started out as a generic Diablo clone, and then got an entirely new developer and concept.

It sure didn't disappoint. It's diametrically opposed to Drakensang games' light-hearted "fairy tale" atmosphere and has more of a 'Witcher' feel, both in art style, themes and tone, but fits perfectly into its Dark Eye setting and makes perfect use of the lore.

Even the combat turns out pretty good (and most importantly, fun) once you develop your character (it uses practically a character system identical to Drakensang, but fitted to an action RPG). It may be a bit too easy on normal difficulty, but even this is not a deterrent considering the nature of the main character.

All in all, a pleasant surprise from a previously unknown developer which shows a lot of promise for the future. Hopefully this game will do well enough in Germany and beyond so that more Dark Eye licensed RPGs will be made in the future.

I'd sure be interested to see a more light-hearted Dark Eye game from the same developer.

(and I realize, in the near future we have Blackguards, another 'dark' game in Aventuria to look forward to...).
