I was thinking about what I would call my undead in the game. But then I started wondering what sort of names Larian is making and wants. What would be appropriate?
Kickstarter reward: “Name one of the undead creatures in the game! We are gathering names and putting them in one big pool. Many undead creatures in the final game (ghosts, skeletons, zombies in all their glorious variations) pick a random name from this pool.”
Larian’s style is pretty tongue-in-cheek and seems to allow for a lot of freedom. For example Divine Divinity contained a mix of fantasy-type names such as Mardaneus, Lanilor, Demona, Bronthion, Eolus ThunderStorm and ZixZax the Almost-Wise... and more ordinary (english) names like George, Hugh, Iona, Josephina, Sir Patrick and Commander Ralph. So does this mean we can call our undead things like Skanky Steve, Darren the Damned, Terry Bull and Helen Back?
So, what do you reckon? Any opinions on what would be suitable or what would be immersion-breaking?
I’m also thinking, why should a few lucky backers have all the fun? We can make up some names now just for kicks and who knows, maybe Larian will like some of them enough to include them anyway...
