I got to play the alpha for about an hour. I had a lot of fun so far.

I’ve noticed a few things that you guys might want to look at changing. Just my opinion and observations, but I felt these were a few things that could be improved.

The Camera, I like that I can rotate it, but the limited rotation is lacking. Do you all think it should have more rotation? I was hoping for a full 360 degree camera, but if we could at least rotate it 180 degrees that would be nice.

Camera tilt too would be nice if it can be implemented. I would love to be able to zoom in and tilt the camera to watch some of the fights or just view the environment better.

Items lying on the ground are pretty hard to see at times. I think a highlight button would be nice to have like holding down the ALT key and it highlights anything that is intractable in the environment. This would allow the player to see anything that has dropped from a kill. While playing this was the one thing that was a bit annoying when trying to see items on the ground.

While in the Char Inventory Screen, there are very small arrows to change from one char to the next. These arrows are pretty small. They do not stand out and can be over looked pretty easily so you can change from one char to the next.

My thoughts here are remove the Arrows keys and place a second portrait up there of anyone in your party besides Coop players that is. So the player can see that he has both Chars to click on and change views back and forth when outfitting your char or looking at their items. By adding the second portrait up there, it makes it very clear to the player that he can control both of them from the same screen easily.

Picking up items, I’m not so sure I really like how items jump to the player like they are now. It seems kind of odd to see items jumping to the player like that. I think maybe a better solution like showing the player actually getting closer and making an interaction with the environment would be better suited? Maybe put this one to a vote?

The chest in town that is hidden in the area by the Stairs, there is a chest that is not reachable but you can still click it to get the items. Well, to me this seems very odd that you cant go into that area, but you can still reach the chest. Maybe change this area and place some stairs here or open the wall up so the player can go down after the chest.

Opening up crates, and barrels, I’ve noticed that once the window opens it’s a pretty big window, not sure if it really needs to be that large. If you open more than one, I’m wondering if once you open one box, that the previous box window should automatically close? You would possibly have several of these windows open at once. My thought is, if you open a second crate, the previous create that was open will automatically close.

One last thing, it would be great if we could customize the UI. This is always a very big plus for gamers.

I had no issues with the game crashing or causing me any issues. These are all observations from the first hour of playing.

Thanks guys, it’s been fun so far. And what I was hoping for.

Rick

I'd also like to add a suggestion on here as well laugh
Seeing as how many different spells/abilities each character can get, I believe that we need an option for multiple skill bars (like WoW) or to scroll the bar (kind of like DDO) now I realize that I am referencing MMO's but I feel like having so many abilities, and having to open your spellbook every time you wanna cast one of your spells not on the bar due to the limit of 10 can get frustrating, and is honestly the biggest issue I've run across so far.

I would like to see highlights as well, though I can understand if some clickables need to be not to obvious.

One other feedback item. I had one character selected with inventory open. Then selected the other character. So while Scarlet was highlighted, I was still looking at Roderick's inventory. Would be nice to automatically switch inventories if the character is switched.

That might possibly be annoying more annoying than helpful. I would like the character who is active to have their inventory portrait outline in gold.

I'm not in beta, but for sure this! The one thing I ask for turn based combat is when I make my move I want it quick. Not open the inventory/spellbook often and do things from there. With the advancement of UI's over the years, this to me is a huge deal with bringing turn-base combat back into the mainstream. Elegant UI.

Please make ESC key close all open windows (Inventory, boxes etc.). Pressing it with no open windows should then open the menu.
- this would feel familiar to me from other games.
- would also make closing multiple crates easier.
