I was disappointed that Larian has also taken the path of making the Alpha only playable online. Divinity is a perfect game that I can play on my 2hrs train ride to work where I do not have online access. Any thoughts on Offline play or getting rid of having to be logged in? I found this disturbing with because 99% if Steam games can be played offline.

What are you talking about? You can play the game offline.

Just tried it again. It does work. Thanks. Every time I tried it the app must have been running in the background and came up with a network error leading me to believe that it could not be played offline.

Actually, some people do have issues launching it in offline mode, I'm not sure what causes it, though.

Something went wrong during network communication. Please contact Larian support. The upload will abort. The remote name could not be resolved: 'dl1.larianvault.com'

I did try it again and what is listed above comes up and prevents the game from loading. I went into the Steam > Divinity > Shipping > And ran EoCApp.exe ( Happy Face Icon) and I was able to start the game offline. Just for kicks I tried the SupportTool.exe app and it produced the same message as above.

So yes you can run the game offline…But there are issues that prevent the game from starting with the Steam version if you try to load it the normal way.
