I can tell you that the NPC's in DOS can really waffle. No wonder there is no voice acting, it would have cost Larian the price of a luxury yacht to employ them. You could write a book on some of the none player characters, or read one.

Yep! They do go on a bit. I was watching a youtube vid last night, were the guy got fed up waiting for the NPC to get to the point and canceled out. He done this 3 times while I was watching.
