Every time i try to buy weapons from vendors i get info "your offer insults me" no matter how much i am willing to pay.

Any weapons or vendors?

Several people have reported this issue with specific items or NPCs.
Be careful about repeated attempts to trade; 'insulting' them too much can get their opinions of you very low and cause them to jack up their prices (at least).

Can't buy any weapons from vendors.
I can buy other stuff without any problem.

Shopkeepers with loads of items, or just plain people on the street with one or two items?

Was just wondering what was the vendors attitude towards you character buying the weapons?

I was trying to buy a weapon from a vendor and got the same response. I noticed that the vendor had a negative attitude toward the character. So I kept adding gold to till I was able to buy the weapon but, it cost me 100's more gold then what the vendor was asking me for it.

So now I save the game before I try adding gold. Add gold till I figure out what they will take for the weapon. Then reload the save and offer that much to not increase the negative attitude with that vendor.

Had this happen with a couple vendors, having them decline adds negative attitude. I dunno what the scales are for if the vendor won't agree in the first place.

Noticed that its usually one weapon that he/she won't sell, perhaps this is a weapon that has been flagged as equipped?

For Arthu it was a nice staff (diff stats in each game, but in each game there was one staff he would not sell at any price). For Esmerelda it was a sweet mace, again everything else was purchaseable at normal prices, it just seemed like one item was not.

I did notice that the price seemed to be very good for the item in question, so perhaps this is a text error between suggested asking price and actual price?

I have been running into this issue a lot on my current playthrough.
Both Anna (I guess that was her name, the girl from the Fabulous Five inside the Tavern) and Esmeralda refused to trade certain items, mostly magical weapons/armor.
After reading the previous post I had a little test:

I wanted to buy a magical(green) 1-handed sword (level 7 or 8 I think) from Esmeralda, it was listed initially as ~187 gold.
Of course she refused to trade it for that price so I put in more and more gold until she finally accepted my offer. I had to put over 1400 gold into the trade window for her to accept, keep in mind the initial listed(!) price of 187, that's almost 10 times as much.

So I guess it is indeed an error with the displayed price of certain items (scale button also only adds gold until listed price is reached)!
