Hi there.
First let me say that I really enjoy this game and that I’m looking forward to its release.
Since the sticky thread here only collects technical issues, which prevent you from playing the game I thought I would start making a list of other issues I encounter while playing it.
Please note that this is not a ranting thread about things I don’t like but rather about stuff that is (in my opinion) obviously not meant to be like that but does not stop you from playing. I am also aware that this is an alpha.
Some (or most) of these issues might already be well known but I will still post them since I encountered them personally and that is what this list is about ;-).
While I will try to be as clear as possible I would like to apologize for my English since it is not my main language.
I will edit this post as I encounter new issues.
So let’s start the list:
Things I strongly believe are not the way they are meant to be:
- When loading a save, my journal marks all my active quests as unread, thus they are blinking until I reread their details.
- The enemy KI does not seem to factor in height differences or objects when aiming with a bow, thus causing them to shoot at the floor or at said objects even if they could just move a bit to get a clear line of sight to their target. Those enemies that shoot the floor won´t move until their target moves farther away,out of their range. Those shooting an object will shoot at it until it is destroyed and their line of sight is free or their target moves out of their range.
- Sometimes when I try to “open” a bookshelf that is mounted to an inner wall, my character walks to the next room and interacts with it through said wall.
- When provoking a guard to the point they want to start a fight (e.g. by repeatedly trying to steal stuff while in their field of vision) they open a dialogbox saying that they will start to fight me now. If I leave the map while this dialogbox is still open (and thus, the fight has not jet started) my party moves to the new map and the framerate drops down to like 1 screen per 10 seconds and stays there. Pressing f5 to save and f8 to quickload allows me to reload the savegame with normal framerate. If I walk back to the map with the guard he will engage in a fight the moment he detects me. I could produce this behavior two times by provoking the first guard in the prison cellar and moving back to the ground floor on time but it did not always happen. I will also post this issue in the sticky thread since its effects kind of stop you from playing and force you to reload the game.
Things that might be intentional but I still believe they are not:
- I can Phoenix-Dive into every closed room I encountered so far, thus letting me skip some quests by a few steps and loot stuff I should not have at this moment in the game.
- Mages seem to be way more powerful than warriors (I have jet to try an archer). I understand that fragile mages should have more offensive power in damage, range or AoE-size depending on their playstyle and that some attacks are better versus some kind of enemies than others but my warrior does next to no damage compared to my mage to any enemy I encountered so far. Madora does have a fair amount of damage, but that is due to her 2h-sword, which is very strong at my point of the game (lvl5) and her phoenix Dive, which again is a mage skill.
Things I might just be too dumb to understand:
- After visiting the shelter at the End of Time I don’t seem to be able to teleport back to that place. There should be an option at every waypoint, right? -thank you lokitrixter
