Have one of your other characters learn that spell, there are no requirements for it (I tested this), and the more healing the better.
Apparently, eventually there will be two types of healing spells: High AP, long cooldown, Instant effect that heal a lot at once, and low AP, low cooldown spells that heal a little bit over several turns.
The Regenerate spell is in the second category, but right now, it heals a small amount over a short time, not comparable to the way your health and enemy damage scales. It's only really useful out of combat to patch up wounds, and it takes a long time to do that. It needs a buff to how much it heals, and it should probably last longer as well.
