The alpha currently has what I'm calling sequenced turns here - conventional board game type turns. "Simultaneous" turns might be an oxymoron, but I simply mean that all the characters get to decide what to do pretty much at the same time, perhaps with some delay to account for lower/higher "initiative". This would mean that some it's not a given that you'll be able to perform the actions you set out - e.g. you might've directed a character to run up to and hit one of your opponent, but that opponent might've decided to run away, so you end up with your character chasing after him when the "turns" play out together, since the running your character could do during ta "turn" would is no longer enough to reach the now departing opponent.
I get that many would find sequenced turns more fun, but I would like to see more games try out "simultaneous turns" - which might beg the question as to why one doesn't just make it real-time. I'm not sure it would be overall better (more realistic, though), and I guess the conventional turns has long been a fundamental of Original Sin that won't change.
