Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity Original Sin - Beta I can't even start the game :/

I just bought the early access of Steam, but can't play it for some reason. When I start it, I get the pop-up saying this is an early version, feedback wanted, yada yada yada, and that's about it. There's no button to click the pop-up away, and nothing else happens. I've tried starting the game three times, but still nothing.

I'm on Win 8.1 64-bit, if that helps.

Check your firewall, try running the EoC.exe by itself in admin mode, restart Steam. I had this happen randomly yesterday and once steam was restarted it worked fine again. Also make sure to verify cache in Steam.

Hit Enter. The buttons in the launcher window are not displayed properly if you have your Windows font size set to medium or larger. You should be able to just make out the top edge of the 3 buttons at the bottom of the window; the left button (Play) has focus by default, so you just need to hit Enter to start the game.

Hopefully this will get fixed in tomorrow's update (which, BTW, contains enough changes that it is unlikely to maintain saved game compatibility).
