In town I was still lvl 1 the first time I played. Then I started again and noticed 2 things. The most annoying is the fight with the young orcs, if you don't manage to lasthit them with your heroes, you won't get 440exp, you will get nothing. The second thing is that if you are ruthless and want to beat up everyone you encounter good or bad, you get waaaaay more experience. I somehow agro'd all the people near the boat on fire, by stealing the hammer and nails, and got like 220exp x 10. Also the people at the bridge, i was nice the 1st time and got some exp, but it was way less then when i decided to fight those 2.

I do somewhat second this, but I also think it might be fine to have there be actual perks to being a bastard/murder/thief. This however requires an adequate risk, and how to go about creating such in a game where you can simply savescum (which btw I think should be possible) I do not know.

You could also create other rewards for good/lawful characters. Perhaps one could imagine that a goodhearted character is able to take on missions that others cannot? Helping their fellow man out. Maybe you could have an event where any person who has stolen X value things or gained X exp from murder is robbed/wounded and suffers a penalty? Just ideas, from the top of my head, but I do think the gap between good and evil is to great in the risk/reward sector.

Hmmm, maybe later in the game, in the early game you just get the quest and the exp and kill everyone to get even more exp. Plus the exp you get killing everyone is much, much more, then the exp you get from the quests. And then I didn't even talk about the extra gold and items you get from killing friendly npc's.

Then that's your own choice. (I wonder if it's possible for one party member to leave combat.)
