Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Anyone have tips for decreasing load time?

Ive timed it and it takes from 1 to 1.5 minutes just to load a game from a quicksave. *sigh* this is bad when I keep reloading for good item stats. Does it take this long for other people?

not really.....usually about a minute..or two....

That is about what it takes for me, as well. Different people have mentioned save/load times in the range from about 30 seconds to 4 or 5 minutes. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> It all depends on your hard drive / CPU speed and the amount and type of RAM.

I noted that sometimes in Rivertown market it takes a couple of dozens of seconds to load the game, wheras it sometimes takes a minute in other areas.
EDIT: Ah, btw, if you want faster load times, go kill everyone. It helps, I tried ;0).

lol, i use a 1.53ghz ATHLON XP1800++, geforce 3, 512 MB DDR ram, it takes me not even 10 secs to load games from quicksave, only takes longer at the front screen, bout 10-20 secs :/, i guess its all cpu speed, etc
