This is so boring. I suggest: An option to ask citizens my way around. You know, like "Could you please tell me where whatever is ?", instead of having to visit every damn house of the boring city.
Then, they could mark it on the map.
It could even be possible to buy a map of Cyseal, and when you activate it, have all the main buildings appear on the global player map.
It would really make the Cyseal inquiry part less painfull IMHO.
Edit: yeah, "sign posts". Could make it but not precise enough IMHO. I really think asking my way around would make sense in a RPG.

There will be more direction added when an NPC specifically directs you to a certain location, etc.

You need to loot all the houses anyway.

Getting specific directions to places NPC's direct you to will almost certainly be in.
Getting NPC's to tell you where to go from where you are now, is more difficult because you can't just have all Citizens go "The barracks are Northeast", because generic citizens share dialogue, so the dialogue would not always be accurate. Additionally, once the schedules are in, the NPC's can be at different places. Code could certainly be written to check relative positions and such, but it's probably not the best use of the coder's time.

Then just noting the spot on the map once you talk with the Citizen would be good enough I think. A generic "let me tell you where the inn is", then having a map marker appear could do the trick. Easy way, and "roleplay-ish" way of helping the player navigate.

You need to loot all the houses anyway. Is this a joke ? No joke! You must go to every house. All Houses have some interesting questparts... and after that, there is a mark on the map. And you get exploration points in about each house! You are a dedektive! You had to find a Killer! So ask everybody about it! That is the role!
