I'm new, and i'm not sure if this question has been already asked, but i can't find a FAQ.

Anyway, i backed this game on kickstarter and i got two copies of the game (or i will get them to be more precise). Now i can choose a different storefront(steam,larianvault,gog) for each copy. I'm wondering, considering that i want to play with a friend, can i have one copy on gog for myself and another copy on steam for the friend. Will multiplayer still work normally?

The intention is to have different versions be compatible for multiplayer, but that has not been confirmed yet (until the multiplayer functionality is closer to completion, Larian can not be sure that no compatibility issues will come up).

Yes you can play together with different versions. You can find the other player in list of all open Multiplayer games or direct with the IP address.
