First things ahead: i was unable to finish the MainQuest reason will follow. Additionally this was the first time, i have to force to play the game instead of playing for fun.

This is mainly caused by the current skill-system. I'am missing the reward after a good fight. DOS doesn't offer progression or loot.

At least some material to heal wounds should be available to the player. It's simply boring to return to Town after the fight (not to say, that mostly the gold-drop don't fit the HealPotion cost)

After fighting a the several fights (completly cleared the path till lighthouse + the new cavern under the city) my characters reached LVL 4 and was unable to handle the group north of ceicil (entrance to the tunnel). Additinaly i was unable to spend the "Points" cause of "next level" need 3 Points. This is simply frustrating.

Some more irritating to me, was the full "Open locked doors"-Thing.

[list]
[*]There is "skillbook" to unlock doors who need lvl of "way of ranger". Additionally there is Skill to level. If i have spend all points to get the unlock ability, (at least lvl 4) 1/3 of the doors in ceicel are unable to cracked.
[*]I don't know what kind of magical-wood are used to build doors in DOS, but it hold very long to fire, direct brute force and even all kind of weapons ...
[list]

After all, lockpicking/open doors need a tweek wink

Make progression feelable doesn't mean "slow things down", the changes has to be noticeable

There are healing spells in the game. The Wizard and Cleric start with one in their presets, and while you do have to buy it from the potion seller, Jahan is able to use that healing spell as soon as you pick him up.

Maybe it's just me, but I find that potions are one of the more common drops from enemies. True that you don't see them every fight, though. The "Penny Bun" Mushrooms can be used with Crafting 1 to make minor healing potions.

I agree that progression is really too slow right now, but the next patch should add some additional skills with Rank 1 and Rank 2 requirements, which may make those levels feel more meaningful.

The lockpick skillbook will be deleted in the next patch as it is useless, you need the Lockpicking ability and a Lockpick. If doors were easy to brute-force down, then that wouldn't really make Lockpicking very useful, now would it?

Regarding Lockpicking: no not realy. If you are in a town and try to brute force a door, this should be dealed the same way like thiefs are dealed. But if i'am in the wild, it simple booring to hit the same door for several minutes.

There should be some doors (iron, magical ...) who are uncrackable by brute force but openable by lockpicking.

I know that Jahan is capable of the healing spell but after the start it's not offordable to the player, cause you don't have the money. you have to farm some gold wink
