Well pretty much what it says on the tin, I am writing a story set in the Divinity universe and would like to post it up on here, but its predicated on figuring out where Aleroth is on the globe, it ties into the story much later. I am using the Dragon Commander gamemap as my guide to try and figure out approximate locations for things. I was hoping to set my story on several islands amongst the northwestern sea [Arctic Ocean] and mainland, and am hopeful it is actually opposite to the location of Aleroth or at least has enough distance to make what I am planning feasible in a military sense.

If anyone could help or point me to some more information on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a link to an image of the teleporter map in Divine Divinity. A little below the 'I' in Rivellon, the oval with the blue flame symbol (indicating an activated teleporter pad) and the small pinkish area is the hamlet of Aleroth. A book placed early in the game says:

Quote
The northern section of the land of Rivellon is dominated by four key localities: the Dukedom of Ferol, the populous town of Verdistis, the shadow haunted Dark Forest and the legendary Dwarven Halls.

The capital of Ferol is Rivertown, set amid a pretty network of villages and farming communities. The chief export of Ferol is farm produce, as the ducal fields are among the most bountiful in Rivellon. Duke Ferol resides with his family at Stormfist Castle - an ancient fortress, originally raised by the corrupt sect of wizards who later became known as the Damned. The Ferol family drove the dark mages from Stormfist centuries ago and have done much to rebuild and renovate the building.

Further to the north lies Verdistis: a wealthy city that is technically under Duke Ferol's rule, but with a town council that has developed a reasonable degree of autonomy. Verdistis is well known for its impressive guild houses and the decorous mansions of its noble families. Having developed rapidly from a simple crossroads village... *the rest of the text seems to be cut off*

Check Kiya's website or the GameBanshee walkthrough for maps of various game areas.

Aleroth is also shown on the Divinity 2 map (then grown into a city, and the surrounding landscape changed by magic in the intervening war). The gamepressure guide has more detailed maps for each of the main areas in Divinity 2.

I was referring to where does it sit on the globe, I actually don't need the layouts of any cities or anything near it. The story ends with the main forces in the book attacking the opposite flank of Damian's forces as he assaults Aleroth, this would fit in with what we know at the end of Flames of Vengence where Damian leaves the siege to prepare for something leaving only his love behind to maintain the siege, and thus only losing her when the player lays the smack down on Damian's forces. So while it is strictly not canon figured giving the story a grounding by having the reason Damian departs the siege of Aleroth, was because another sizeable force is hitting his flank and he went to oversee his forces there.

If there were a global map, it would change between each game, or (at least marginally) restrict the design of subsequent games.
