Where do I find the key to Dr Elrath house? I have looked everywhere.

South of his house, near the log. Hold ALT if you can't see it. It's only there after you've visited Dr. Elrath in his house.

Dr Elrath is very strange, I may say.

First time I met him in Poor Area, where I was unable to talk with him (he leaved when cut-scene ended). Then we met again in his house, where I... hm... just looked - nothing more :)... at his chests :), he was displeased with such an action and banished me from his house and _leave_. It was before I have found his poison barrels, when I got a quest log update to meet him. And after that I never seen him (of course I picklocked his house and got familiarized with his belongings :).

And only when I leave his cellars with some of his stuff he arrived to try to blame me for this. But quest record stating "Meet with Dr Elrath" or something remain unresolved, yet whole quest became resolved.

Is it ok, or it is my... incorrect behavior... broke the plot?

You broke it - as soon as you have the final cutscene with him, he won't turn up again.

But I still dont think that I boke something (I was careful in his home :). May be he just feared, that I may you my Summon Vermin skill (he may fear rats... coward... an EVIL coward :) or even my dirk :] And decided to leave his home each time I approaching?

Anyway quest could be resolved without his help. Oh, btw, please, tell me what does he say if plot doesnt broken? Is it important (philosophically)? Is it give some xp?

Elrath chat about poison barrels/key/final. IIRC you get the XP from Hugh the farmer, after you tell him what has really happened.

I don't think you get any experience points for that part of the quest. If you talk to him he kicks you out anyway (regardless of whether you bring up the poison barrels or not).

Risking being reputed as topic-waster, yet foundind, that making new thread on just a stupid question is worse, let me ask you.

In the castle jail there are two connected with each other rooms (but seem not connected with jail itself) NW from guard, and almost MW of map of jail. I can see stairs down in one of them. What is it, how one can reach them?

And is there any way to get to castle from jail (before being Lord Protector and after)?
