Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General Problem with Council of seven

I really can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've saved all the rest of the council members. The last one I have remaining is Eolus. I've returned the Axe of Stone to the Dwarf King. I look into the gem/stone portal thingy.. and it shows Eolus at the shrine in the dwarf village. I go there and he's no where to be found. I've looked all over the village and can't find him. The guards are at the shrine but no Eolus. Does he have a home somewhere that I'm not looking? Please help.. otherwise I may have to start all over.

Also The quest with Maria... she will not even let me talk to her. I've already gotten the quest to kill her.. and trying to get her to respond so I can try saving her reputation. I click on her and get NOTHING. The only time I can get any kind of reponse from her is to have my weapon out. So I have no choice but to kill her? I won't be able to buy a home if I do this?

I really really like this game. I'm just a bit sad that I may have to start over as I'm like level 37 (i think)... sigh...

Eolus is in the house south from the place you first saw him. I don't know about the other problem.

no, you don't have to, send him to the council, you can still finish your quests then. The quests can't be completed if you HIT THE GONG not gather all the members.

Just a guess: Maybe accepting the quest to kill her has deprived you of taking her quest? (I spoke to her first, so I had her quest and turned down M.'s offer, that's why I'm guessing)

I'd try this: Do you know where Malcolm's house is in Verdistis? Go into his bedroom and look if an account book is ON top of his cupboard - then go to Maria and speak to her again - if she still doesn't respond, I'd go to Trevor/Merchant guildmaster/Verdistis. Hopefully you've got a speech option then. If not, confront M. with this account book.

If all fails: Then you just have the choice to kill her or leave the quest unfinished. Yes, you can't buy/rent a house then - but there are houses you can take over. I did without a house in my later games, was more practicable to have bed and barrels near the Ars Magicana teleporter - sleeping under the stars in fresh air is very healthy <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Well, Raze has a fix, you can download the book, but I don't know if this will mess up your game. Do you want the download? At your own risk?

You need to talk to Maria first, in order for the account book to be there.

Since you do not have the quest to restore Maria's reputation, downloading the book may not do you any good.
