I think, it's a great idea to publish <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> for Mac & MorphOS. By the way, what actually is MorphOS ? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

I think that's a great idea because that market is rather small there. Publishing for these Systems makes Larian Studios more famous, I think. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Alrik.

morphOS appears to be an amiga-like os deseigned for the Power Pc chips. It seems they originally wanted Amiga emulation and it eventually "morphed" into something more.

If you know enough CS see http://www.blachford.info/morphos/morphos_in_detail.html

I would really like to know why they would spend time to port to it such an obscure OS - maybe it's a small step from OS X. Linux or, heck, oven one of the BSD's would be a much larger target audience.

Hi Alrik,
I think this websites will help you, to understand, what MorphOS is.

http://www.blachford.info/morphos/morphos-German.html (in German)
http://www.morphos.net (official homepage - also English)

Yes! It's very good to hear when a game developer will make thier game for other OS besides windoez. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

I DO find it odd that they would choose MorphOS instead of Linux?? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

Linux needs more game titles. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Yes, Thank you ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> Now I know from where this name ("MorphOS") sounded familiar to me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> I didn't know ...

About Linux: On a Server ? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Actually alot of people run/use Linux not as a server. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

And the funny thing about the MorphOS.. I STILL have my Amiga 4000... but I dont have a monitor for it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />

I know that. But apart from that, Linux is still positioned mainly as a server system, that's where the main development goes, I think.

But I think this kind of Discussion doesn't belong to this kind of Forum.

There are not enough games in my opinion for the MAC and to be honest it's a shame since working in IT i have to admit that MAC's are extremely stable systems. Not that i complain about my good old WIN 98 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> but i am big enough to admit the truth

sure it does, we were talking about porting games to different OS's, so...

In the U.S., Linux has quickly been gaining ground as an alternative (to windoze) mainstream OS. several PC manufacturers now offer it as standard on many of their PC's. A linux port would be a great idea, IMO.

I don't want to begin a Flamewar (hello, everyone <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> ) , but in my opinion the stress has been put too much on Linux as a server system.

I know that there are Lindows PC's out there, but here in Germany one of such a kind is rarely to be seen; the people rather buy Linux (for example the SuSE Edition) and install it on their own.

But I strongly suggest that a discussion about the position of Linux should rather be made in the Chat Section, not here.

Mmmm! Amiga emulation. *Gets all misty eyed and nostalgic thinking of my old A500*
