Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General Imp Council Member

I am in a bit of a jam here.

I talked to the Imp at the Ducal Inn about being a Council Member. Before I accepted to touch his (ahem) crystal ball, I wanted to save. So I decided not to go into his magical world before doing so. He/she/it said no problem, just come back anytime and I'll be able to touch it and continue the quest. However, I did not get the usual response to have me enter his magical world.

I decided then to continue other quests and hoped that this quest would get unlocked. However, it does not seem to get unlocked.

I tried going back to the council chamber and reviewing the ball and the statue, but I'm still getting the response that the imp is at the Ducal Inn.

Everytime I go back I only get one response from the imp in the room and that's about how I'm in the wrong room.

Any ideas on how I can continue the quest?

Raze fixed the broken imp quest, click here

Patch version 1.34 allows to speak to the imp several times, though I'm not sure, if it will work in retrospective.

Story fixes, excerpt
A lot of the following fixes are only valid if you start a new game. However, if you don’t start a new game, installing the patch has no adverse effect.

- Fixed:Zaknadrix dialog option disappears to go to the Pocket Universe

[color:"yellow"]If you have patch version 1.33 though, you'll get problems[/color]!!! Which version are you currently playing? Number is on the lower right part of the loading screen.

I do believe I am running with patch 1.34

It says v1.0034a in the bottom right hand corner.

I will still install the patch that you recommend and see if that fixes the problem.

ok, then you have to use Raze's fix. I'm curious, did you encounter any problems by installing the patch or the game? Did you have admin rights and shut down all other running programs during install?

Did you start the game before you installed the patch? The patch only fixes the dialog problem in new games, not retroactively.

try pickpocketing to see if the crytsl ball is a item or something

I will try Raze's solution though...I think that is the only option I have left...

Btw, I started the game with patch 1.34 already installed.

So far this is the only problem that I have encountered.

As for pickpocketing, I can try that but I don't think that my skill is high enough...er...skill of 1...:)

Pickpocket won't help - please, read Raze's instructions very carefull and restore all original files as he described it.

If you don't, you'll encounter severe quest problems afterwards.
