I'm somewhat unhappy with the NPCs reaction to friendly fire. As soon as you hit NPCs directly or with area effects, they turn hostile. This is quite annoying given that NPCs who join combat on the side of your team repeatedly run right into the fire fields or poisonous clouds your mage creates. If they suffer damage from crossing such fields, they react as if you had attacked them intentionally. I had a few fights where I had to reload and try again, sometimes even refraining from using area effects in combat to avoid making NPCs hostile.

Yeah, NPC reactions to player actions in general are pretty unrealistic and/or nonexistent. I've elsewhere mentioned the examples of fireballing/smashing "unowned" doors/containers or the ground right next to NPCs, and of successfully sneaking a few inches behind an NPC's back and stealing stuff while the rest of your party is standing a few feet away; neither of these types of actions get any kind of reaction from the NPC(s). I'm hoping Larian can work on these issues over the beta period - at least to the extent they have the resources.
