If anyone can assist with this, I'd be very grateful.

What I need help with:

1) An "American English correct" and thorough manual install procedure.
2) A means of fixing frequent CRC errors, whether through RAR tips and tricks or system alterations.
3) Anything I can't think of that will get Divine Divinity to install properly.

Details of my problem and what I did:

Like others I have had the dreaded installation errors. I tried the normal install four times and received CRC errors every time. As far as I can recall, disks 1 & 2 functioned fine, but the game disk provided multiple errors to the point where the install simply froze (never to be completed).

I checked the game disk for any visible flaws and found none.

I then looked for posts of those with similar problems and found that this is somewhat common. I found the manual installation procedure and attempted to follow it, but found it confusing. For one, the tech specialist's first language is clearly not English, as he said to install to "Programme" instead of "Program Files," etc. Normally, this might not be a problem, but this left me wondering whether the game would recognize my best-guess-substitute American English names or whether I was required to use the names he provided. This was made doubly confusing because he said to copy a folder called "localisations" into a "localisations" folder, and the one that RAR created was called "localizations" (correct English). So, would one created a sub-folder called "localizations" or "localisations?" Or was a sub-folder of the same name even necessary — were you meant to copy the files from the copied folder into the RAR created folder? Obviously, pathing makes a difference.

To be brief, my effort at the manual install was a dismal failure. I was able to get the config window to function and the game to launch, but following that the video was extremely choppy and the game then simply crashed outright.

PLEASE HELP,

ELB

"localizations" is the correct folder name.

Re: "Programme" = "Program Files"
Anything before 'Divine Divinity' in the path is irrelevant, you just have to edit the registry file so the patch can find where you put it. The game would only have a problem if there is a difference in the subfolders of the Divinity folder, so certain file were not where they were expected.

The file verification method described in that topic should identify any missing or misplaced files.

(the .v2 folders were added by the patch).
