I thought it would be nice to have just one forum thread among the hundreds of bug report/feature request topics devoted to one simple thing: thanking Larian for their hard work.
The hotfix that just came out (and fixed my crash problems) made me think of this, but it's just one of many, many examples from the Kickstarter and beyond that prove how responsive Larian is to their fanbase. Yes, they're making D:OS in order to make money - but it's clear to me that for the dev team, it's much more than that. They're trying to make the game they themselves - and they believe their fanbase - always wanted to play, and they're clearly working extremely hard with relatively limited resources to do so. They're not going to please every customer with every decision they make, but their passion and connection to the players truly sets them apart in the video game industry.
In other words: THANK YOU, LARIAN!

Thanks, Larian! You already have my Kickstarter pledge, so you don't have anything left to prove to me, but I praise you for making the role-playing game players like me have wanted for years, and (hopefully) many new players will love, though they don't even realize it yet. But they will, thanks to your ambition and dedication.
Cheers!

Yeah. I played Divine Divinity and I'm glad I backed Original Sin.
I much prefer buying smaller dev titles than AAA ones nowadays. For one, you can see them listening to fans and at least considering their input. Every patch you see tremendous progress.
In contrast, I know of some AAA titles that have recycled yearly iterations with the same bugs from years ago. That's unacceptable.

I didn't back Kickstarter... and I was sceptic about OS. I'm glad to see my worries were for naught, and this game went the right way, backwards to when RPG's where RPG's that is. I almost forgot how fun RPG's of old could be, but it's nice to be reminded in such a nice way, and in a brand new game to explore fully in the future . Thanks Larian!

Very glad I backed this too. I was already please with the alpha version of the game, but the beta now looks like the game will hold all of its promises (if not for schedules, but we're over this now).
Among all the complaints and (often valid) criticism of the current mechanics, I'd just also like to step in to say I really like the design philosophy behind all the systems in the game, even though some might need some more fine-tuning. Combat challenge, item degradation, status effects, general difficulty, all of these look very good to me.
Congratulations to Larian, already, on making the most exciting rpg released in these last, what... 15 years ?
