the last few times, I've played the game a couple of times and each time, I keep getting a seperate pile of gold of 1000 pieces. The problem with this pile is that I can't combine it with my regular pile, it doesn't show in a trade window, and it doesn't show as part of my gold total. I can seperate it and recombine them but that's it. Is this a bug?
Also, now that I'm posting, is the dusk and dawn effect suppose to return after a time? Cause when I got the 1.34 patch, went away but lately it's been occuring so what gives?
THanks for the help in advance.

Yes, that particular pile of gold is bugged - you can't use it for anything. (other than for decoration, I suppose)

The dawn/dusk effect can sometimes be gained/lost by re-installing the game or by installing a patch. Edit the '..\Divine Divinity\Run\config.lcl' file in notepad (or any other text editor), add the line "splotchproblem 0" to the end, hit enter (the game expects the last line to be blank) and save. When you start Divinity and load a save, the dawn/dusk effect should be restored.

Tekmoor confirmed that it worked for him. So far that I know of, and remember, it has worked three times, with no posts that it failed to work. Some DD problems and questions...

Sorry to bring up such an old subject. BUT, I think I found where the phantom pile of gold comes from. I just finished the Abbey. I gave 1.000 gold pieces to the phantom of the Abbey who removed the curse. And then in my invetory there was 1.000 gold coins. That is the exact amount of money I gave to the phantom in the Abbey and that money were not in my inventory when I entered the Abbey. So I suppose that I gave him the money, he removed the curse but because he is a phantom could not take the pile. It just stays in the inventory as a ghost pile which can not be used, because it belogs to the phantom.

iirc it has to do with a certain farmer... who's very interested in fashion. And who you help with a billing problem.

Seth's right, it's Hugh the farmer. Besides, you have to pay the Engineer 10,000gp to rid the Abbey of the curse.
