I don't think there are any NPCs in Cyseal that can do Repair level 5 (the blacksmith is gone, and his house boarded up).

It would be so helpful if NPC's showed their identity and repair level, so you wont have to just go blind luck with repairing.
What level does Esmeralda have?

Esmeralda has level 3 Repair; don't know about Identify.

Hmmm, would have expected more, working in a weapon shop and all.

But I generally didn't use repair, aside from the permanent damage, finding the skill-levels was just too much trial & error. Likewise for identify; not to mention Loremaster should give other bonusses even if they are broken ATM.

Really a camp of legionnaires should really have a smith, it is ridicules that they do not.

...and I agree the Repair/durability issue is pretty bad right now, I hope it is going to gets lots of attention/balance in the near future.

Right now the repair skill is useless until you get it to Rank 3+. Even decent unenchanted weapons require a repair of 3 to attempt repair. At just Level 4 I have gear that requires a lvl 5 repair. What is the point of this? So far I've only been give 8 skill points (10 if I got 'All Skilled Up)' I can't even afford to have one skill at 5! A repair of one should be able to maintain non-broken equipment. Maybe a trade off is you lower max durability, or you use your tools faster until you hit the sweet spot for that item. Anyway a skill that is pretty much useless at level 1 is a broken skill.

Repair level required is based on the items current durability. If it wears beyond a certain point, it requires more points in Repair. Repairing at anything below rank 5 DOES lower Maximum durability, and people HATE it for that.
