just started this game ... the manual states that if i hold down the ctrl key it will show any items that i can interact/pick up but this doesnt seem to be working .

any suggestions? or advice i seem to be missing loads of things in the dark dungeons

Maybe you do not press it right? You should press gently, with your middle finger. Do not press too hard or the key will whine.


CTRL?! You didn't read right: it's ALT, not ctrl.

it's the ALT key that does this, ctrl targets the closest enemy to your mousepointer so that you can easily attack enemies

Turn your gamma up in the video options to lighten up the dark dungeons.

hehe,my bad,yes i know its the alt key but that doesnt work either,sorry to be a pain ..

The alt key should show descriptions for potions, gold, equipment, etc. but not rocks, chairs, etc. Also, if the item is obscured by a wall, the alt key will not show the description, though moving your mouse over the area will. Try dropping some gold or equipment and hitting the alt key; does that work?
