I was just wondering how the teleporters work... (not the pyramids, but the location-specific teleporters).

I just got the scroll for the one near the starting town from the mage. I got another from the Goemoe the lizard. So, I was wondering, can I teleport to a far away location now, or do I have to physically walk there first, and then I can teleport?

The latter would make far more sense, as the game wants you to explore all the areas first, then it should allow for you to teleport to a favorite merchant or NPC to finish a quest, etc. So, I assume you must first reach the destination teleporter and activate it before being able to teleport back and forth from other teleporters you have already located and activated.

Any help is much appreciated.

you have to get the correct scroll, than walk to it, or run to it, and activate it, than you can teleport there.

Here's where you'll find them:

- Orc Scroll: It's in a chest in the Orc chief's tent in the Orc camp (SE corner of Aleroth/Rivertown map). The Orc chief drops a key. You need it to open one of the chests in his tent. The chest contains a key for the next chest and so on... - The last chest contains the activation scroll.
- Human Scroll: Captain Mitox will give it to you. Mitox is in the abandoned, burnt-out village near the Orc camp. You can also find it in the Cursed Abbey. As a low level character you should preferably get it from Mitox. The Abbey is pretty tough.
- Dwarven Scroll: It's in the Dwarven Town Hall in Glenborus. Glenborus is the Dwarven village SE of Rivertown. Alternatively, you get the Dwarven scroll from the Dwarven king after you've settled the war between the elves and the dwarves.
- Lizard Scroll: Goemoe will give it to you when he is in the Blue Boar Inn. You have to solve the healer escort quest before you can find Goemoe there.
- Imp Scroll: It's in the abandoned Imp fortress in the Dark Forest (SW corner).
- Elf Scroll: The Elven King Elredor in the Archer's Guild will give it to you. The Archer's Guild is in the SW corner of the Aleroth/Rivertown map.

I got them all except the second human scroll from the cursed abbey, and I wasnt given the completed teleport quest, until I got the cursed abbey scroll.

IIRC, you anly need three scrolls to complete this quest: the wizard scroll (Zandalor), the human scroll from the abbey and iirc the elven scroll. I'm not sure about the last one though.

You only need to pick up the human scroll in the Cursed Abbey to solve the quest.
