All right, I'm having a lot of fun with this game, and I'm in Verdistis now...I've run across a couple problems, though.

The first is regarding George's Murder quest...I found the vampire, killed him, and my quest diary tells me to go back and tell Mardaneus. I went back to Aleroth and talked to him, but the only dialogue options I have are about the problems with the Source. How am I supposed to tell him?

The second is about the Merchant's Guild. That Malcolm guy told me to kill Maria to gain membership, but I refused...so now he says the membership fee is 10,000 gold pieces. I actually have almost 50,000, so I should be able to pay, but I can't find out how to do it...

Any help would be appreciated.

2. There is an other way to join the guild. Go talk to Maria and restore her reputation <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />.

Murder:
2nd possibility to bust the quest: Refusing to give George his drug plant. You have to get this quest, even if you don't give it to him afterwards

Paying: Is done in speech option - you can only pay in patch version 1.34, in all lower versions: nope.

1. Did you receive the quest to solve the murders in Verdistis? If you didn't, you may have broken the Georges murder quest and there's nothing you can do about it, other than restore a game before you killed the vampire. It's a pretty big loss, because I think that Mardaneus gives you an extra restoration skill as a reward.

Yes, I talked to the vampire about George, and I received the quest to solve the murders in Verdistis...I'm not sure about refusing George his drug plant, though. I don't remember him ever being alive, actually.

Hm, look into your quest log = Drudanae quest. Is it there? If not... you can't get the final XP in reporting to Mardaneus, sorry.

For the Merchant's Guild you can get the book in Malcom's house to prove he is stealing from the Guild, then you don't have to pay anything <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/alien.gif" alt="" />

so in 1.34 you can pay tog et in?
can you kill Maria too?

Yep, in 1.34 you can kill Maria. Was quite strange: Some guards joined in the fight, others just came and watched, without joining the fight, if I took care not to hít them. Mind you - I did it for testing, not for my real game procedure.

I won't do it, but you can kill her AND THE PRICE GOES DOWN???

Never tried that far, but if you kill her - IMO, you don't have to pay.
