Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General Nericon Garden Key / Cemetary mix up

Well, I dunno if this is what happened but I suspect it was. Basically I got the key from Blake after doing a few quests and I think that it got accidentally used getting into the cemetary (certainly I don't think I had a cemetary key, and the front gates looked identical so I thought I was getting into the garden) and now that I've saved past then it's lost for good. Is there a cemetary key which might well fit the garden's doors so I can unbreak my game?

Or do I have to do that save-hacking thing to get hold of it?

Well, I guess I'll have to fake it. Still, other than this minor annoyance, I'm absolutely LOVING this game. I don't think I've ever played a nicer RPG on the PC. Why this got mid-80% marks instead of mid-90% I don't know...

If you still have them, you might try using your teleporter stones to get in. Leave one outside the gates and throw the other one inside the gardens.

I think I remember that I once read a post that if you get an invitation to the storm fist castle you can also access the garden.

I've got the invitation at the moment, but I've yet to go into the castle. Too many interesting things to do outside of it still. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Wise decision, Dr., entering the castle pretty late in the game is better - but I don't know of a key after the invitation...

sorry that was my mistake. I searched for the thread again and found it. It doesn't give you the key for the garden if you get the invitation to the castle, but you can get the key with an invitation even if your rep is low, sorry again for the confusion. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" />

Have you tried picking the lock on the Garden gate?

I have no idea if this wors or not, I have to admit, but it seems worth a try...

I had lockpick level 5, tried to pick the garden's gates, and failed.

I tried up to level 4 (the best I can do at the moment) but as the poster below points out, even level 5 doesn't work. In the end I did the save-fudge thing and fixed my game that way. It seems a bit like the cemetary was put togther in a hurry as not only do the gates use the nericon garden key, but three of the trunks in the crypt are in fact the very same trunk (ie, stick summat in one trunk and it appears in all three, take it out of one trunk and it's taken out of all three).

There are a couple locations with containers like that;
