Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity Original Sin - Beta Suggestion: Imbue weapons with elemental spells

I think it would be mighty cool if you could give a temporary elemental buff on a weapon using a magic user's spells. Like, say, you have your wizard cast a Blitz Bolt and target your warrior's weapon in their equipment screen and the weapon is now imbued with electricity for a limited time, maybe doing some bonus electricity damage. Just a thought, could give a little more depth to the combat with all the combinations already in the game.

I think that they're trying to avoid that because elemental damage ignores armour and is not resisted very often, which greatly increases the damage it does compared to normal attacks.
