Is there an enchanting functionality in the game??? I've played the latest beta build for more than 25 hours but I didn't find any hint of such a system although I pesonally think it would be a great addition. Or is it part of the actual crafting system to be able to enchant ("make magic") items? Or did I miss an NPC offering the service?

I mean at some point in the game you have more than enough money, more than you could spend on any items or service available. Why not adding NPCs that can enchant items? And - in the same direction - why not also adding NPCs that can /craft blacksmith new items if you have the ingredients and the receipe but lack the crafting skill? That way you would "trade" money for skill which would be a clever system to actually make some use of your money. (A blacksmith who can repair items on level 5 is needed anyway...)

What do you guys think? Should there be an enchanting possibility? As a character skill or service offered by NPCs? I would appreciate that, either way or both. smile

I think I am dreaming of a system that would allow the player to keep the same old weapon he has from the begining, and improve it with time, ingr馘ients, and so on.

I am afraid we won't see any enchanting in DOS.

However, keep faith in the modding community.

Too bad they didn't keep the system from Ego (or eco?) draconis, was one of the better parts of the game I thought. Acts as a time sink, and its enjoyable thinking about what mods you want to put on your gear, getting the reagents together etc.

At least im assuming they haven't, nobody has played past the first part and they have a habit of unlocking these features so far into the game.

I never found anything definitive on enchanting in the game, but you can for example use pixie dust to create a magic needle and use it on Leather Scraps... the only problem is that nothing happens when I do that. So there might be a way to create Magical Items, but its either not finished yet, or wont be in the game after-all.

It would be weird though if this wasn't in the game, since it would make crafting anything but consumables pointless.

You can craft some unique items (first example that comes to mind is the pumpkin helmet) with the ingredients/equipment found in Cyseal, so it's not exactly pointless. But I think that's somewhat different from the whole idea of enchanting equipment, which would definitely be cool if added by mods.
