Hi, I get this message pop up on start up of the game

"Connection failed to the Larian support server. The Larian support tool will be disabled. The remote name could not be resolved: 'dl1.larianvault.com' - "

The game runs fine once I click ok on the small dialog box where the message appears. Also, this may or may not be connected to the error message but I cannot seem to get global chat, by default the chat is on local and I see no option anywhere to change it to global. Thanks in advance for any help and awesome job on the game Larian you truly are an exceptional developer!

Make sure your firewall isn't blocking access for the game (EoCApp.exe and SupportTool.exe both need access).

Try starting the game directly from the '..\SteamApps\common\Divinity - Original Sin\Shipping\EoCApp.exe' program file.

Thanks for your input Raze, I have allowed access to EoCApp.exe and SupportTool.exe in my firewall but still get the same message. After starting the game with EoCApp.exe I don't get the message but still have no global chat, it would seem that running direct from EoCApp.exe just bypasses SupportTool.exe. Is SupportTool.exe required for global chat?

I don't think SupportTool.exe is required for global chat. The failed connection is probably what is preventing the global chat from working (which isn't a problem for everyone, at least).

Did you try verifying local files for the game?

If that doesn't help, please email supportdos@larian.com, with a description of the problem and the report.zip file generated by the D:OS support tool.
