When a character gets killed in a place in the environment that is fixed and cannot be changed, like near a fire pit where its flame can burn someone if they're standing to close, rain doesn't put down the flame so every time I try to use a res scroll they come back to life only to be insta-killed by the fire. Can't tele corpses away from the fire cause there apparently to heavy so something to fix this would be nice.

What works is fast travelling to the end of time, if you have that unlocked. The dead person travels there with you.

Using stairs or hatches also works, if you don't have access to the end of time / teleporter pyramids. Just make sure the dead party member is chained to the one(s) teleporting.

Seems to me that the most logical, convenient and simple way to solve this is to have characters resurrect adjacent to whoever is casting the resurrection. I don't see how this could particularly be exploited either, so there's no real reason not to make it function this way.

I'd certainly appreciate some flexibility about where the characters resurrect. The XP penalty for dead characters encourages immediate resurrection, but sometimes that'll just get the revived guy killed again instantly. That would also help with the "dying on lethal surfaces" issue.
