Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Demon of Lies Seems Stuck - Cant complete game

I've already done the Gong thing and taken out the five black ring members in the dungeon in teh wastelands (except maybe Josephina who I defeated but warned me more was to come). I've reached the Demon of Lies but he does not react when approached and I can't touch him. Obviously I am missing a trigger or something but I have been all over the place and can't figure out where else to look. Also, nothing seems to occur when I click on the two levers at opposite sides of the building where the Demon is. I've tried several combinations but nothing seems to change. Any ideas?

THese levers work. You only have to click them once (they dont make a sound). They are used to open the way to the demon.

It seems like the game thinks you're in a cut scene. Try reloading to a fase before that (if possible).

btw: what version are you playing? There is a known bug with the demon if you use scorpions and freeze on him to defeat him. He dies and nothing happens. This was fixed with the latest patch. But if i understand it right, than you can even start to fight him right?

I have the 1.34 patch loaded. The problem is that I can't even touch him. He just stands there and does nothing and no melee or magic attack has any affect.

I can go back to before I found the the Demon and try again, but I wanted to make sure that I was doing the right things first. Other than the dungeon whre the Demon is is there any other caves, dungeons, tunnels, etc in the wastelands? I didn't find any. Just trying to see if I missed something.

There are no other caves, etc in the wastelands. Are you sure you got all 5 Black Ring members? Other people have run into this problem after teleporting past the spike wall and visiting the Demon of Lies before finishing his lackeys off, or running past it after defeating most.

I finished off all five black ring members; four defintiely died. I also defeated Josie but she made some comment about there being something more in store for me and disappeared. She was the last of the five but I never found her again. Did you have to chase her down after you located her?

I may have caused a bug by getting to the Demon before I killed everyone, though. I used a flash spell to do a teleport attack across the spikes and then found the Demon before I killed all the others. I went back and finished them off, then went back to the Demon, but he still didn't respond.

That should be it for Josephine; you only get to fight her twice (once in the Dark Forest).
A cut scene conversation/attack should be triggered a few steps into the room. I guess you'll have to start over. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

Or I could email you my save at that point, so you could finish the last minute of the game and see the final videos and credits. Alternately, you could skip the (easy) fight and download the Bink player to watch the videos.

Oh well, there are a couple of quests I missed earlier - think I'll go back to an earlier save and try it again. thanks!
