Hello, I hope this is the right place to ask some questions about the toolset:

1. Will it be possible to change the rules of the game by adding or removing skills, spells, stats etc.?

2. Will it be possible to change the party layout of 2 heroes + 2 henchmen? Can mods have more than 4 characters total?

3. Will the toolset work under Linux natively?

Thanks!

3) No, probably not. At least during the kickstarter it was said the editor was using some Windows only components. After release when Larian starts upgrading the engine and editor with additional features, that could hypothetically change.

Thank you. I have two more questions about Steam integration:

1. Can mods be distributed through Steam workshop only, or can they be hosted elsewhere? If the first how does that work for non-Steam copies?

2. Can a copy purchased through Steam be decoupled from Steam? I expect not, but some games give you a normal copy if you buy it on Steam.

The game is DRM free, so you do not need Steam access anymore in order to play the game once you have downloaded it.

Mods can be hosted anywhere. I believe the intent is to set up a section for D:OS on Nexus, etc, but the mods themselves are just a set of files in one of the install folders, so it doesn't matter how they are distributed.

As Elwyn said, the game itself is DRM free, so for the Steam version you would only need the client to install and update the game (after that you could back it up, etc), or if you wanted to use Steam specific features (like the Steam Workshop).

Pre-orders could possibly come with (Steam) beta access (except from GOG) and ordering from the Larian Vault should give you a DRM-free installer, as well as a Steam key. That's how it worked for Dragon Commander, anyway.

Do you have any idea to what extent combination of mods is possible? Will mods require overwriting default game files?

Don't know. Multiple mods are possible (mods of the main game have the changed files in the mods folder, separate from the main install), but presumably there would be a conflict between mods that are trying to override the same original game file.

1. Yes~ (in a global chat Lar_Q said players can tweak skills to their liking and even let me know I could rename stench skill with toolkit ^^)

2. Yes~ believe it is 4 human players max (the last two players will have no dialog options though)

*EDIT* Should really join the game after patch days, someone from Larian is usually on there seeing what players think ^_^
