I've noticed that everytime I talked to Esmeralda - the counter in her shop seems to be gigantic. Standing behind it, it goes up to the characters chins, and especially women seem tiny compared to it. Nothing dramatic, but still a somewhat big issue (sorry, bad pun).
Might be that this affects other parts of the world as well, but somehow it's Esmeralda's shop were it seems most obvious to me.

You are in fact correct. Ive noticed it but... then didnt pay much attention, probably because im playing with maximum zoom out almost all the time.
She is also walking back and forth a bit too much and we have to hunt her with the mouse pointer in order to start a conversation - while her shop counter hides her a lot.
It would be nice if she would come to the ends of her walking - moving path and then pause for a while.

I agree that the counter is huge and the size differential makes Esmeralda look like she's about 10.
Additionally, the skeleton of the lighthouse keeper is gigantic. He must be 9 feet tall.

It's fantasy. Think Harry Pooper movies, your supposed to look at things like this with wonderment and amazement! A sight to behold! Not to measure it up with a yard stick and protractor.

Nowhere in the Divinity universe is it established that giant counters that can't even be used by the shopkeepers that own it exist.
Suspension of disbelief only goes so far, less so if one is more cynical.
Unless otherwise specified, just an opinion or simple curiosity.

Of course, if we take the giant skeletton in the lighthouse into consideration, I think it becomes obvious that Larian is keeping silent on something there... Maybe Cyseal was build and inhabited by a race of giant humanoids, and puny little humans only recently killed all the giants and took Cyseal for themselves. The undead are just the revenge of the giants, as are the orcs. We are the evil ones here!

From playing a bit more and paying attention, it seems too me that many assets in the game might need some rescaling. E.g. Madoras sword seems to be quite big (but in that case it might be intended), however, when I equipped an "Old Shortbow", that one, too, was quite gigantic. Same for various clutter items you encounter in the game (e.g. the skeleton in the healer's house, bread which seems to be the size of the average human torso, same goes for some flasks). It almost seems as if originally characters/NPCs were supposed to be larger...

Maybe a byproduct of how much higher rez the games textures are now from earlier versions.. dunno lol.. maybe mesh sizes had to be adjusted and they missed some.
