You can, however, find or buy an item with a bonus to pickpocket. If you quick save in front of a merchant before talking to them, running your cursor over them or hitting alt, you can trade, then quick load if they don't have what you want. It might take awhile looking for a specific bonus, but you could try to get a ring/amulet with Pickpocket from Kistandalius in Ars Magicana, the dwarven jeweler in the Dark Forest, or maybe Corinna in Verdistis.
