ie. with all the stats, or do I have to start all over. For instance, Diablo keeps the same character stats as you go to harder levels of the game.

I'm not sure, but i think you'll have to start over completely from scratch.

No, you have to start again. But the hard lvl is not very useful IMO, no better goodies, just the boss monsters are a bit harder.
