World cup.

And that's an excellent reason smile

And, on a related note; I wish we could start a catch-free donation account to buy the devs a congratulatory beer after the launch. They've been working hard.

Funny how the World Cup starts Jun 12.....I think they know better than to get in the way of E3 and now the GOG/CDPR press conference. But if Larian was really worried about the world cup they'd likely have set a release date pre-E3. Though I got to admit I am worried about the lack of media coverage about Original Sin and the release date being so close to E3...I think they run a very real risk of getting lost in the noise. I hope they do really well.

Yes, the World Cup starts on the 12th, but Belgium does not play until the 17th. So they only miss one game. Besides, accuracy be damned, the OP was written with tongue in cheek smile

I would like to buy a few beers for them though.

I didn't mean it that way. The real important matches don't happen until much later and a 20th release still has Larian catching all the important action given that the World Cup doesn't end until July 13. I meant how they timed it to start just as E3 ends on the 12th.

Oops, my bad. Thanks for clarifying. Also, as a poor sod from the USA, the group stage is the most exciting time for me. We probably wont make it out alive smile

I too hope D:OS gets a good bit of press coverage. If not, we could at least push it to the top of the Steam charts on the first week of release. I've held off buying a second copy until release as a way to cast my "vote".

it is already the case, D:OS has quite a good coverage on the web unefortunately as a small studio they cannot spend too much money to advertise the game...
but they will be probably be at the GamesCom as last year with Focus Home Interactive, problem is that the new Sherlock Holmes (crimes and punishments) will be release in september so they will probably give more space to it...

That's going to be an expensive round of beers, if you live in the US smile
From what I gather the coverage is pretty good, and the game got a lot of followers on many RPG forums, the main focus anyway... but maybe I'm just having a shifted vision frequenting those and reading a Belgian gamemagazine who obviously spends quite some space on Original Sin XD
