Would it be possible to slightly adjust the mechanics behind running and walking? Right now, it feels like you have to click at the far edge of your screen in order to get your characters to run. Possible suggestions:

1. Could the click-able range for running be decreased, so you don't have to move your cursor as far to have your characters run?

Currently, your cursor has to be around this range before your characters will run:

I'm wondering if it would be possible to decrease that range to somewhere around here:

Or would it be possible to include a menu option to increase/decrease the range to your own preference?

2. Could running/walking be made toggle-able? Possibly by holding down shift to temporarily walk or by pressing caps-lock to switch between walking and running?

That first image is not even remotely accurate. The current walk/run transition actually occurs closer to the second picture.

From my testing the transition occurs here:

And that's already a pretty small distance to have to click in. I can see setting up a configurable transition distance in the options menu, but the size you're suggesting would be annoyingly small to me.

Part of the problem, I think, is that nekroturkey's example is in a relatively cramped interieor, where Gyson's is wide open exterior. Given the difference in zoom, both examples fit with my experience.

It can be difficult to run in small spaces, especially if you want to whip through a repeating fireball trap. It can be difficult to walk in large spaces, when you don't want to run.

It would also be nice to be able to *really* run when you're criss-crossing the city, for example, but if the speed was cranked all the time there would be a lot more "Hey, I see *BOOM* a trap!" dialog.

It's always hard to balance conflicting requirements. "Personal preferences" config settings - in the in-game options or in config.lsx - might work. I have no idea how much work that would be, or what would happen in multi-player.

At any rate, I wouldn't want to see the "walk" target zone get as small as nekroturkey's second example.
