I browsed Shereth's wares briefly before I was ready to buy. When I went back, the dialogue then froze me out of buying ANYTHING, even when I was nice to her.

Did you try the trade icon in the dialog box, just below her portrait?

If that doesn't work, try with different party members. NPCs don't want to talk to companions, but they should be able to trade.

The direct entry to trade from dialogue with Shereth only happens the first time you talk to her.

After that, you have to click Trade, just like everybody else.

(Complete digression regarding dialog and attitude.)
Of course if you talk yourselves into killing her for being a dirty Sourceror, you can't trade with her any more. Just saying.

Oddly enough, Madora doesn't have any problem with not killing her.
  • Cats: bad.
  • Deaf people: bad.
  • Wizards and magic: bad.
  • Nobles who can't keep it in their pants: bad.
  • Self-confessed Sourcerors and thieves: Perfectly OK! Lovely woman! Let's all have cake and balloons!

I'm hoping there's some effects on henchman attitude from party choices coming in the full release.

You're both absolutely right, so that solved it. D:OS is unusual in that the only way to find out what people have to sell is to click on the trade button.
