Alright, i got D:OS a few days ago and have been playing through it with a friend for the past few days, and while for the most part it has been great fun, i have a few concerns and questions that i'd like to voice.

My main concern is that terrain effects, especially burning, seem completely broken in both damage and functionality. Damage wise, burning inflicts an incredible amount when your character (or an enemy) is walking through it, but only a small amount through the "burning" status effect. This has the odd consequence that, instead of trying to get out of a patch of burning ground, the safest course of action is to sit in the middle of it, unmoving. Why not give the terrain extra chances to inflict it's status effect (or an increased duration if they are already afflicted) when being moved through, instead of straight damage? Also terrain effects seem to linger for far too long after combat ends, sometimes seemingly permanently, and patches of burning terrain that are left over after a water barrel is broken in the area can outright kill a character in seconds, something that is very frustrating when collecting the loot after a difficult combat.

Some other issues have arisen, enemy archers and mages being able to shoot through smoke and interceding terrain despite the player's inability to do so, an inability to get backstabs despite being behind the enemy (there really needs to be a facing indicator somewhere, maybe on the red circle under the enemy's feet) and the leech talent being hilariously overpowered, at least in the early game (and that is something to note, all of these observations are early game, though considering the importance of the early game i'd say these concerns are all justified)

Balance hasn't been nearly as bad as i expected for an early access game, though this close to release i suppose that is only to be expected. All in all this looks like an extremely solid, fun experience with a few niggles to be worked out, kudos to the D:OS team for all their hard work, and here's hoping that all of the issues i have with the game are solved by the time it hits release (which will be in a week or so i think).

The release was delayed slightly (to the 30th) in order to add some voice work.

lol thats just another delay. I wouldn't expect this game till 2015 the way these people act. Changing the days of release whenever they feel like it. The originally release date was some time last year think they have changed it 3 or 4 times now. Play it safe wait till 2015 or be screwed out of your time and money like me

All in all, D:OS got delayed by just half a year: it was originally planned to come out in Q4 2013. I think it is a pretty reasonable delay time frame for such a big game as D:OS. I know some games which got delayed by two years and even more!
